Living in the Philippines is quite unfortunate for the non-Catholics. It's such a pain to go throuogh all the boredom and the "pakikisama" with all the Catholics in the observance of the Lenten season. All malls tend to be closed, no movies, no fast food, not a lot of fun activities to go to, unless you make Visita Iglesia a little fun with your family or friends.
True enough, I just find the observance of Lent a little more of "just a tradition" that we all can't run away from - afterall, our ancestors were colonized by Catholicism. In actuality, and I guess, by heart, most of the people do not totally surrender to the observance, so most hardworking people take this more as an opportunity to take a break away from the city - and go to the beach or some other place. If you take celebrities for example, some of them take the week off and go out of the country. In any case, i wish everyone the this Friday will be truly a good one, and I hope everyone will be blessed this Good Friday - and every day!
